Style file, little boy blue!

So day two of my style file, hopefully people start following me.. or else I feel a little odd posting about my daily outfits!

Today was one of those more "mellow" days, let's just say I went for the "little boy" look as oppose to my typical girly outfits.

Brown Oxfords: Target

White button down: H&M
Black and white pullover sweater: Forever 21
Black leggings: Forever 21

This look is more laid back and casual, and layering tends to be a popular trend this fall so why not go with it! Pair it with a scarf to add a more winter time look. I went for more simplistic and pair it with a gold Michael Kors watch and gold hoop earrings!

Until next time,

xoxo

Style file, first post!

So I really want to get into this whole "blogging" thing on a frequent basis. Also, I would LOVE if I had more than 3 followers, what a loser am I? I need to figure out how to get myself out there. So I figure the more I post, the more people read, and the more people read, the more followers I get? Yeah, that sounds about right.

I am going to try and post about my outfits on a day to day basis (depending on if it's a cute one or not) sometimes, I can get lazy... I mean it happens to the best of us right?

Today, was a bad hair day... and bad hair days= hats. BIG FLOPPY HATS! And since the weather was perfect for this I was finally able to wear my black one.

Floppy hat: Nordstrom Brass Plum

Cheetah print sheer top: Forever 21
House of Harlow Necklace: Nordstrom

Rust orange high-wasited skinny jean: H&M

Pair it with a combat boot or flat, and your set to go!
Hope you guys enjoyed my first post on my "Style File" :)

Until next time,

xoxo

Birthday wish list, wee :)

Yes, I still make a wish list every year for my birthday... it makes shopping for me a bit easier since I can be picky at times. I just thought i'd share a few of the must have items on my list, I figure might as well post on my blog since I updated my page, (let me know what you think of it now) so here it goes...

Michael Kors watch, I die.

House of Harlow necklace, a must have piece

Halogen sunglasses, "Jackie O" style frames that I have been dying to find!

Leopard Jeffrey Campbells, every girl needs a pair of JC's in her closet ;)

Alex and Ani initial "J" bracelet, a perfect addition to a set of bangles

So excited for my birthday! Not for the gifts, but to finally be 21 and able to get a drink with my bests. Until next time,

xoxo

Finals over, what a relief.

Ah, finals are finally over with and now I have some free time to sit and breathe... and relax, and sleep... a lot, to make up for the lack of sleep I had over the last week. I can check Summer quarter off my list, and now I am anxiously waiting for Fall to start because that only means one major thing: MY 21ST BIRTHDAY!!! In which, I couldn't be any more excited about, and it seems to be all I keep thinking/talking about... I mean it's 21 here, it's KIND of a big deal. I know I will regret saying this later, but this week needs to FLY by, even though the week of my birthday... FALL QUARTER starts. WHAT A JOKE RIGHT? Anyways, I hope school is going well for everyone considering you all just started/midterms are approaching... I'm gonna post my FINAL project I had for specialty merchandise which was pretty much the only thing I focused on during finals considering my other classes consisted of group work...

The concept:
Sustainable furniture design- Pick a designer and create a furniture line using eco-friendly fabrics/materials. Describe how the materials got here/how they were eco-friendly. Include mission and design statement along with background of the designer.

After hours upon hours on this project, it's safe to say I went above and beyond according to the comments, and it was "portfolio" type work. I'd like to give myself a pat on the back, and a HUGE sigh of relief that it's over with.

Until next time,

xoxo

The September Issue

Yes, it's FINALLY here! Well, it's already here, it came yesterday... so what if i'm a day late? Vogue's September issue. I literally wait every year for this, and this year's cover is featuring the every so lovely, Kate Moss. This issue takes an inside look at her wedding, since she tied the knot with Jamie Hince in a Gatsby style fashion. Kate Moss's wedding is said to be the "most romantic wedding of the year" according to Vogue.  Not only are there exclusive photos from her wedding, there are also photos of Moss in gowns exclusively made for her by designers such as Oscar De La Renta, Vera Wang and Valentino.  Here are a few photos you'll find in the latest edition...

And I hope to look like that in my late 30's..

If you'd like to see more of Kate Moss and exclusive photos, go ahead and purchase the issue itself, it's well worth it!

Not only does this issue focus on Kate Moss it also focuses on the top trends in faux fur, and of course who could forget the $100 and under section in which they focus on key pieces that are inexpensive and beneficial to every little ladies' closet. The September Issue is by FAR the best issue of any magazine. This is your "how to guide" for the WHOLE year, it's fashion heaven.

Gearing up for Fall!

Summer is coming to an end, and my favorite season of ALL is approaching. FALL! Who could resist leggings, boots, oversized shirts, and scarves? I sure can't. This season we are seeing a lot of trends evolving and with this little post I will discuss what what items you all should start adding to your wardrobe before the Fall season comes!

According to Style.com one of the newest looks they are saying to be trendy is collaging. This look incorporates color, pattern, and texture all at the same time.

The next trend is "Color Forms" bright hues have been a big hit for the last few seasons and they will still be hitting strong for Fall. Designers will be pairing bright colors as well as color blocking for a unique look.

Furs, are always a trend during the colder seasons. Real to faux, designers are making these furry pieces i in bright colors that we wouldn't typically see. The Olsen's will probably be the first to sport this out of the box look.

Who could forget the SIXTIES!? The look of the time is making a comeback and honestly, there isn't much to say about it. Just feast your eyes on this...

POLKA DOTS!!! This will be one of my FAVORITE trends for Fall. Designers are showing their spots all over the runway, and being the girly girl that I am, i'm obsessed.

And last but not least, MENSWEAR. Looks like women will be shopping in their man's closet this Fall. Anything from tuxedo jackets, to tuxedo pants.

Until next time,

Better late then NEVER: Cotton Couture

So last quarter, (Spring) Ai hosted a fashion show at Anqi restaurant which is located near Bloomingdales at South Coast Plaza. This show was held for all the graduate fashion design students to showcase their collections. I was lucky enough to be presented the opportunity to be Co-Director backstage along with a fellow classmate (Rocky) we got the chance to be behind the scenes of the show, pick the models, style the looks, etc. It was such an amazing experience and I was able to see what it was really like to be backstage of a fashion show... one word, CHAOS! But, I LOVED and enjoyed every second of it. We were also recognized for our efforts which made the event that much more special, and I really felt like I was part of such an amazing event. On top of all the amazing looks that were at the show, I was able to meet Miss Gretchen from Real Housewives of Orange County, I am not a CRAZY fan like most, but she was a sweetheart! Here are some pictures from the night...

I feel like i've know this girl my whole life ♥

The group who came to support me, love you guys!

My Nics aka Latina Heat ;)

 Ms. Gretchen herself!

Co-Director, behind the scenes ;)

My very best friend, Al Bal ♥

 I LOVED having a headset!

The runway...

My Ai crew, love you guys!

And of course, who could forget the show itself :)

Ah, it's been a while...

Hey everyone, I know it's been quiet sometime since i've posted on here... actually let me correct myself it's been FOREVER. I'm sorry that I have neglected to post anything but SO much has been going on wether it's school, or work. It pretty much consumes me. I just wanted to pop in and post some of the latest assignments that I have been working on at school. I would appreciate some feedback if you have any :) Just thought it'd be fun to share some of the stuff i'm doing since i've been neglecting my poor blog.
