It is soft and supple which gives it a drape, but it is difficult to handle when sewing. Chiffon comes in several different "looks." The most popular is silk chiffon. It is a lightweight, delicate chiffon that is often used as an overlay or ruffle to evening gowns, dresses, and separates. The finish is usually a light crepe texture.
